The LPD8 is based on Akai Professional’s MPC line of iconic music product stations. While the smallest model, the MPC500 is quite portable, many producers prefer to work with software on their computer and the LPD8 gives their laptop the controls they prefer over a mouse and keyboard. The LPD8 has eight blue light-up pads that are velocity sensitive for programming rhythmic or melodic parts. The pads can also send program-change information to software. The LPD8 also has eight assignable Q-Link knobs to which users can assign virtually any parameters in their software for hands-on control.
Just received my package today, everything is in perfect shape and I was pleasantly surprised to see a 2GB memory card instead of the 1GB. I bought this for my birthday which is tomorrow so I'm glad I got it now. It's an absolute pleasure to do business with HipHopTools.com and I would not
hesitate to recommend you to friends. Now it's on to making beats.

I just picked up the Akai APC40 from HipHopTools today and I couldn't be happier. I ordered my MPC from these guys a few years ago and I was happy with the service so I decided to give them a shout about ordering the APC40. The guys took my name and e-mail addrress (they even remember me from my previous order) and within no time I got a got an e-mail that one was in stock! Now I got my APC, my MPC and Ableton up and running flawlessly. Amazing combo. Thanks again.

My son is a beat guy, we’ll call him B. He scratches, samples and mixes all kinds of music. It’s actually quite a fascinating art and requires perseverance, talent and a fair bit of expensive equipment. Not the kind that is available at your local Best Buy, but the kind that requires a special sort of retailer, one that is found online.
The object of our desire was an Akai MPC1000 drum machine sampler. Now these retail between $900 and $1100 depending on who your talking to, so this is one of these purchases that you hold your breath a bit when you hit the payment button, it’s big ticket stuff when dealing with strangers. B did his DD and narrowed it down to an online retailer we found on ebay. Best price, best information and a whole bunch of extras to go with the unit. So we click on to his online store front and purchase the item. Great site, easy to use and informative.
The next morning I receive a call on my mobile, Hip Hop Tools pops up on my call display and I’m thinking now what? A man on the other end of the line introduces himself and says he’s the owner of Hip Hop Tools and he wants to thank me for my purchase! Imagine that. He then tells me that he’s shipping it out tonight and if I have any questions or problems to call him personally and he will look after it. Four days later, there’s a box at my door. A perfectly packaged, brand new MPC1000 has arrived. As B unpacks it he realizes that there is a catalogue of samples that was to be included and was missed. I emailed my friend at HipHopTools and he responds within the day with a link to download the great big file of samples with an offer to send the disk.
I wish that I was a beat guy too, because I would love to buy more stuff from these guys, the experience alone in a world so full of attitude and bad service was worth it. Not to mention they deliver the goods at the best price.
