There were all kinds of industry rumors swirling around that Numark had a four deck DJ controller launching at winter NAMM 2011. That rumor is now true and the biggest surprise of all is that the controller has a four deck version of Seratoís ITCH DJ software. Borrowing from Numarkís hugely popular NS7FX and V7 the NS6 is a world class DJ controller that includes balanced XLR outputs and a 24-bit audio interface.
Even more astonishing, the Numark NS6 has a fully functional 4-channel mixer with built in effects so it can be used as a standalone unit or with a computer. The touch activated high resolution wheels bring 3600 ticks of resolution per rotation with automatically adjusted platter sensitivity resulting in precision turntable control.
The DJ community was first introduced to Strip Search virtual-needle drop control technology with the NS7. The NS6 builds on this technology with indicators that display track position which makes searching through tracks easy and simple. Around each wheel are dual color LED lights that let you know what deck is being controlled.
The simple and intuitive design of NS6 includes favorites like mouseless Serato library navigation, Key Lock, complete Pitch Control, manual and instant Looping and Hot Cues. New features have been added including direct access to beat grid controls and beat skip, which allows you to juggle the track inline with the beat so that it never loses sync.
Inputs and outputs are extensive with two XLR outputs, headphone out, two microphone inputs, two phono inputs and four line-level inputs. The NS6 can be connected to a Mac or PC via USB and can be used with a vast array of MIDI software since its communication is based on MIDI.
The Numark NS6 will launch in March/April at a street price of $999 Itís going to be massive with demand off the chart so if you want one pre-order now to get one of the first to ship.
